About Us
Marlene Gordon and Beth Novins,
Partners & Owner of Osceola Street Café
In early 2000, Marlene Gordon and Beth Novins
decided to go into business together. New to the
area, they quickly fell in love with Downtown Stuart
and started their Café crusade as a tiny coffee shop
which was originally located a couple of doors down from their present pose.
With a large leap of faith and a huge amount of dedication, Marlene and Beth moved out and over to a
larger location and since have created a café that compliments our area with "Good
food, good service, and 'Like Home' comfort."
That comfort is one that many locals enjoy on a daily basis.
Many of Osceola Street Café's customers are regulars. Few venues
are unique enough to have the relationship that exists at Osceola
Street Café. It's made up of not just customers, but a community.
John Erickson,
Head Day Chef & Baker at Osceola Street Café
John rises every morning at 4:00 AM and carries a lifetime of
experience with him to work. His grandmother and aunt
operated Meridee's Breadbasket in historic downtown Franklin,
Tennessee. It was his aunt that passed down the family
techniques and recipes that John now uses to offer Osceola
Street Café patrons the freshest tasting lunch creations and the
sweetest pastries in town.
"Everything is fresh," John says. "Produce is delivered daily." John,
who heads up a team of 6 people in the kitchen at Osceola Street Café,
loves the satisfaction of "challenging our customers' palates." John loves to experiment with different ingredients
to create unique and delicious foods and soups. Beth and Marlene give John "free reign to explore."
John who has been a chef for over 13 years and has been with
Osceola Street Café almost from the beginning. has earned his "free reign." He keeps tabs on trends in the
food industry and frequents local and not so local restaurants. "Will travel for good food," John says.
